JOB DUCK

The Jr Developer is responsible for using their knowledge of programming to design software programs. Their duties include coding and testing software to ensure functionality, meeting with members and departments to determine software needs and updating software programs.  


Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with departments and company members to identify issues, end-user requirements and specifications. 

  • Producing efficient well written code based on requirements (coding issues, programs and systems.)

  • Researching in forums or software documentation, in order to solve code-related issues or any other issue that may be in Zoho
    or the tools used by employees.

  • Writing functions and code to automate processes.

  • Testing code to ensure functionality

  • Troubleshooting, maintenance and improvement on existing systems.

  • Writing content for user manuals and tutorials for new hires.

  • Requirements gathering for any new project that arises.

  • Integrating multiple cloud platforms.

  • Creating documentation for other developers to understand the app being developed.

  • Integrating company systems with third party API’s




Key Skills

  • Proficiency in web development languages such as Java Script, PHP, SQL.

  • Ability to learn quickly and work with a team.

What are some characteristics that you should have?

You will need to speak English clearly. You will need strong grammar and writing skills in English as well.

You must be a positive person. If you see the glass as being half full, you are the type of person we are looking for. Our office does not do well with toxic or negative attitudes, complainers or victims, and you will not fit in if you even think that you may fit into one of the above categories of negative people.

We prefer people who are not afraid of computers or learning new things that will make their jobs easier.

If you lose stuff, are not organized, and get easily distracted, please don't apply.

You need to be detail oriented and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right the first time. In our practice getting it done right the first time for our clients is very important and we need everyone to work with this goal in mind. If this seems too much to ask of you, don't apply for this job. You must be a team player. We are strong believers in the team approach, so if you are not a team player, this is not the job for you.

You cannot talk down to anyone that you deal with in our office. You need to have compassion when dealing with those you meet as part of our team.

Your ability to listen to what you are being told and ask follow up questions is very important. If you cannot listen, understand, evaluate and interview someone, this is not the job for you.

You MUST be able to handle working with several different databases of information. If you aren't 100% confident managing data and people, you are not the right person for this job.

At times, you will also need to know how to figure things out on your own, creatively problem solve and come up with solutions.

To put it simply, we want you to earn what we are paying you. We don't want to pay you to socialize, surf the Internet, e-mail friends and family, work for another company or any other non-work related activities while you are on the clock for us. This does not mean it is not fun to be on our team, it just means we know when we have to work and we know when to have fun.

Regarding compensation, the starting pay range is $1300 US Dollars a month during the first 12 months. If you prove to be invaluable to the team, your pay will increase after the first 12 months.
