Junior IT Administrator

Job Duck is a virtual staffing company currently hiring a virtual Junior IT Administrator. Employees work from their homes and are matched to a single U.S.-based business. They are granted holidays as per the U.S. holiday calendar, as well as paid annual vacation time (10 days of paid vacation in the 1st year — 5 days after trial and 5 days after six months).

Starting pay is $1,100 US Dollars per month.

The Jr IT Administrator oversees and maintains all aspects of a company’s computer infrastructure. This includes maintaining networks, servers and security programs and systems. The Jr IT Administrator manages the upgrade and installation of new hardware and software, performs troubleshooting to address any problems with computer systems, and assess viruses and potential threats to a company’s network. They make suggestions for improvements to computer systems, backup data and perform data recovery if needed.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Monitoring and maintaining networks and servers.
  • Upgrading, installing and configuring new hardware and software to meet company objectives.
  • Implementing security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
  • Creating user accounts and performing access control.
  • Performing diagnostic tests and debugging procedures to optimize computer systems.
  • Documenting processes, as well as backing up and archiving data.
  • Developing data retrieval and recovery procedures.
  • Training the Company’s  employees, as well as providing IT support.
  • Keeping up to date with advancements and best practices in IT administration.

​​Qualifications

  • CompTIA certification.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with IT systems, networks, and related technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security.
  • Exceptional organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
