Welcome to My First Blog with Job Duck!
My name is Andrea Soto, I’m 28 years old and proudly Mexican. It’s an honor to be part of this blog and, more importantly, a team member at Job Duck.
Let me tell you a bit about myself and the impact Job Duck has had, not just in my professional sphere but also personally, socially, and more.
Home & Family
I live in the small city of Aguascalientes, located in the center of Mexico. My city is most famous for hosting the largest fair in Latin America, the Feria de San Marcos. I highly recommend visiting it; it takes place every year in April and May, and you’ll love it! I’d be happy to be your personal guide, haha!
I’ve been happily married since June 2022 to my husband Luis, affectionately known as Luisinho. For those who know him, he’s the biggest teaser and most athletic person.
And of course, I can’t forget my home office companion, my little dog Pepa (Beagle). She’s the sweetest yet most mischievous thing in the world.
I have many stories to tell during my meetings, with my background often ending up a total mess because of her, but I wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world. We’re always together, and for now, she’s the baby of the house.
Thanks to the opportunity I have with Job Duck, I’ve been able to make time for my home life, dedicating quality time to my husband and my dog. There’s nothing that makes me happier than being present for my family.
Lifestyle & Hobbies
One of my favorite hobbies is cooking, planning weekly menus, learning new recipes, and exploring wellness topics. With Job Duck, I have the chance to fully disconnect during my lunch hour, so I can cook a new recipe, learn about a new wellness topic, and listen to a podcast, which helps me clear my mind and recharge.
The work schedule with Job Duck allows me a longer afternoon to dedicate to sports activities. I love staying active; it gives me incredible satisfaction once I finish my workout. I try to exercise at least four days a week. I love desserts, so I need a balance, haha!
I also use my afternoons to visit family, go out with friends, take Pepa for a walk, or have quality time with my husband. We love going to an ice cream shop and strolling along with Pepa. To relax, I enjoy watching movies or series and creating playlists on Spotify. I also have a digital camera, which I love using to take and edit photos.
Friends and Family
Thanks to Job Duck and the healthy work-life balance I achieve, I was able to attend a Taylor Swift concert with my friends in Mexico City just a year ago.
I love that we share the same taste in music—I’ve been a Taylor Swift fan since I was 13.
Moreover, Job Duck offers annual vacation benefits that I can use as needed. I recently had the chance to go on a trip to Europe with my best friends. We had an amazing time! Here’s to travel more with friends and discovering new countries!
On some weekends, we escape to my family’s ranch. We love cooking in the oven, especially pizzas, drinking red wine, and having endless conversations with my family. Pepa enjoys these getaways the most, without a doubt.
Job Duck, a Game Changer!
Since joining Job Duck, my life has completely changed. I now have time for my family, personal life, and social activities. I hadn’t had the chance to be part of a company that values my rest and work-life balance so much.
Unfortunately, in Latin America, we’re often used to a very different work life, and Job Duck has shown me the importance of a work-life balance that I never thought was possible.
I’m very grateful for the team I work with; even though we’re remote, my colleagues have become close friends, and it feels like we work together in the same office every day, which I love! I’m proud to be part of a multicultural company that is full of amazing people.
