We are excited to share our brand-new Weekly Tea with Germany from Colombia. In this segment, we invite Job Duck virtual assistants to tell us what it’s like to work from home with Job Duck.
In this episode, we meet Germany, who works remotely from Colombia. Germany’s journey with Job Duck started with a profound realization of the value of time, leading her to seek meaningful and well-compensated work. She discovered Job Duck through a LinkedIn announcement that caught her attention.
Germany shared her unique perspective on the application process, praising its comprehensive approach that allowed her to demonstrate her diverse skill set beyond the confines of a standard resume.
“The application process is pretty different from other companies, and that’s something I really appreciate because I feel that, in this process, they really allow the company to check every single skill that the person has. And that’s great because people have many skills that are not necessarily on your curriculum. So that’s a great way so you can show everything you have.” – Germany from Colombia
Working as a Virtual Assistant
Securing a role as an Administrative Assistant in a US-based law firm, Germany found herself immersed in tasks that not only harnessed her administrative expertise but also provided avenues for creative expression through content creation. Some of her daily tasks are revising contracts and agreements, drafting emails for firm clients, and filling card forms. She’s also in charge of managing CRMs for client management, sending process-related notifications to clients, and answering incoming calls. Occasionally, she ventures into creative tasks such as developing social media content on Canva or orchestrating advertising campaigns on MailChimp.
“I’ve nourished myself with so many new things and improved so many others. It actually makes you feel like what you do matters and helps others.” – Germany from Colombia
Reflecting on her experience with her colleagues and boss, Germany emphasized the enriching nature of multicultural communication, highlighting the positive impact it had on her personal and professional growth.
“My client has been so welcoming. I really appreciate her. We share great communication. It’s actually a position that has helped me improve all my skills. It’s a great thing to learn how to communicate with other people from everywhere and other cultures.” – Germany from Colombia
