Sharing is caring!

Meet Regina
Regina, from Peru, works remotely for one of our U.S.-based employers as part of a criminal defense team. As a virtual legal assistant, some of her daily tasks include speaking with new clients, gathering their information, organizing documents, and making follow-up calls.
She helps both English- and Spanish-speaking people and often becomes the first person they talk to. As she explained, “Usually I’m the person new clients talk to, and I collect their information for the legal team.”
She came into the role with no criminal defense experience, yet she felt supported right away. She shared, “I had no experience, but they answered my questions and gave me constant training, which helps me not feel lost.”
Working Across Different Cultures
Regina explained that one of her favorite parts of the role has been working with people from different countries. Her team includes colleagues based in Italy and Mexico, which creates a multicultural environment. They meet weekly to check in, talk about how everyone is doing, and share any concerns.
These conversations help her manage expectations, communicate openly, and ask for guidance when needed. This support system has helped her feel productive and motivated in her work. As she puts it, when she logs into work, she feels excited and ready for the day.
The Truth About Working from Home
What does it really feel like working from home? For Regina, it has brought a clear change to her day. Her furry friend stays near her while she works, and she enjoys having that bit of company during the day. She also mentioned that she can have lunch with her family and return to her tasks without any pressure.
Moreover, her home setup helps her stay organized, and breaks feel natural. She told us that getting up to make coffee no longer feels disruptive, and it helps her keep a good pace throughout the day.
