Sharing is caring!
Ever wondered what it’s like to be part of Job Duck? In this edition of our Weekly Tea series, Bronwyn from South Africa shares what it’s been like working with Job Duck, her experience with the application process, and the advice she would offer to others considering applying. Enjoy the read.
Meet Bronwyn
Bronwyn from South Africa works remotely as an administrative assistant with one of our U.S.-based employers. Her role includes general administrative tasks, bidding and scheduling, onboarding new clients, and closing case files.
Growing Into the Role
Before stepping into this position, Bronwyn already had administrative experience. However, she explains that much of her growth came from learning directly within her Job Duck role and building on her existing knowledge.
“There is a lot I’ve learned that I kind of just added to my knowledge.”
Looking Back at the Application
When Bronwyn looks back on the application process, she remembers it clearly, even though it was back in September 2020. The process has changed since then, but her experience still carries valuable advice.
During the Weekly Tea interview, Bronwyn explained that it is important to pay close attention to every question and answer. It can potentially make or break your chances of landing a full-time career with Job Duck.
Adjusting to Remote Work
Bronwyn admits that it took some time to adjust to remote work, as she had never worked from home before. However, once she was settled in, she never looked back.
“I feel very much a part of the team.”
She now works directly with the managing lawyer at the firm. They speak often, and she knows where she stands. Her manager is approachable, and questions are welcome. This has helped her feel comfortable doing her job well.
A Few Words for Future Applicants
Before we concluded an insightful session with Bronwyn, she explained that Job Duck has not only left an impact on her professional life, but also on her personal life.
Because of that experience, she encourages anyone reading this blog or watching the Weekly Tea episode to consider applying for available roles. She also shared a reminder for those thinking about applying:
“Be yourself. Know your skills and be clear about what you bring to the table. Most importantly, take the time to read everything carefully and pay close attention to detail throughout the application process.”
