Getting to Know Luis
In this episode, we meet Luis who works remotely from Colombia. Luis is working as a legal assistant for a U.S.-based business located in Miami, Florida. The law firm that Luis works with focuses on insurance claims for hurricanes, windstorms, or property damage.
Luis’ daily tasks have progressed over time. He initially scheduled matters and drafted documents. As time passed, his boss realized that he could work on the discovery process, which involved answering documents such as interrogatories and requests for production and admissions.
According to Luis, it was a great decision to assign him these tasks as he was able to start communicating directly with clients, something he thoroughly enjoys.
Plenty of Time for Friends and Hobbies
Luis enjoys a healthy work-life balance as he has plenty of free time to spend with his family and enjoy his hobbies. Factors such as commuting do not come with working remotely, and thus, Luis can simply log off after work and spend quality time with his loved ones.
