It is that time of the year, not Christmas, but Spring! And the best part is the Spring Cleaning. Most of us will agree with the statement: “Tidying is not fun.” However, it is a blessing in disguise! It helps us find lost items and increase our productivity. Also, a study by Indiana University demonstrated that a clean environment boosts a happy mind and a healthy body. We want you to live happy and active lives, dear reader. For that reason, today we’ll show you 3 ways to declutter your home office.
1) Don’t think about it too much
If you think about doing something, it will only take longer for you to start. Moreover, you have to go through each section anyways, so it doesn’t matter where you start. If you need an order to declutter your workspace, try our QUACK technique:
- Question yourself with regard to each item: Is this item work-related? Should I throw it away, relocate it or reuse it?
- Understand your workspace: Where will you spend most of your time? Do you have enough space? Can you move freely? What can you do to improve it?
- Assign labels and locations: A place for everything and everything in its place. Also, keep handy the supplies you use the most.
- Compromise: Keep up with the order you established daily, once a week, or once a month.
- Know your system: “This is your game plan. Learn it, live it, love it.” – The game plan movie.
2) Digitalize
Clutter begins with papers and books. Go through all of them and find out if you can have them on your computer. Scan documents and forget about physical copies that only take up space. Remember that the future is digital!
3) Come up with a system
This suggestion depends on your personal beliefs and thoughts. You can tuck your cables, organize your files into folders, and assign categories to your drawers or shelves. However, all of these actions won’t work if you can’t find anything. You must design a system that allows you to know exactly where everything is and have easy access to what you use the most.
We hope you find these 3 Ways To Declutter Your Home Office helpful! Finally, remember to share this post with someone who could benefit from it.
