First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to every mom out there! Moms are superheroes, and their power is unconditional love. Thinking about it, they are with us for every success and every failure, through every heartbreak and every laughter. For this reason, it is not a simple job; especially, for working moms. Nine years ago, a well-known article named: “Why Women Still Can’t Have It All” came out. Its first statement said: The women who have managed to be both mothers and top professionals are superhuman, rich, or self-employed. However, she never mentioned moms working from home. Therefore, today the superhuman moms at Job Duck will share some tips on “How To Be A Boss Mom Working From Home.”
1) Babyproof everything.
Toddlers are walking natural disasters. That is why keeping everything in order, and having small things, dangerous things, and valuable things out of reach is a must.
2) Establish limits.
Kids tend to think they can play anytime. However, when you are busy, it may not be ideal. Therefore, draw a line between personal and professional space. You can do this by telling your child you can play later and remember to do so once you are free. Build trust and limits at the same time! On the other hand, if your baby is very young, you might need an understanding team. We can proudly say we are:
“There are times when I am in a meeting, and my 1-year-old baby looks for me and cries if he does not see me. Consequently, my husband brings him to me, and my baby automatically changes his mood and says hi to my teammates or whomever he sees on my screen if I am in a meeting. It is adorable, and my teammates got used to it.”

3) Organize yourself.
Do one activity at a time, set schedules, and keep track of your progress. By doing this you will have more time to spend with your loved ones. Once you start working from home, you must manage your time and your spaces.
Are you still hesitant about becoming a mom working from home?
Well, we asked our mom teammates if they would recommend other moms to work from home, and this is what they answered:
“Absolutely. You get to watch your children grow in front of you. You don’t miss out on the little special things that you would normally miss out on if you worked away from home.”
– Phylischia, V.A.
“Yes! The feeling of achievement due to being able to provide for your family and continue your career is incredible. It may be hard at first, but sooner or later, you will find patterns and ways on how to balance being a full-time mom and a full-time 8 hours employee.”
– Elizza, V.A.
“Definitely. No time to waste on anything – traveling, or even preparing to go to work. Go straight to mommy duties after work.”
– Desiree, V.A.
“Absolutely. This job has given me the chance to be more involved in her daily activities. I get to be with her if she’s feeling sick, I get to see her learn new things, we have lunch together, and when my day is over, we can play, watch movies, do homework, and lots of things. That is something I wasn’t able to do in my previous job.”
– Aimee, V.A.
“Definitely, yes! If your kid gets sick, you can still watch over him and work. You don’t need to waste time commuting to work, and you get more quality time with your kid.”
– Laura, V.A.
