I took my lunch break earlier and sat outside in the garden listening to the peaceful sounds of birds chirping while thinking there’s no place like home. As I took a sip from the coffee I had made, my thoughts suddenly traveled back to the days when I worked in an office. I remember the traffic on my way to work and how stressful it was, the expensive work clothes I had to buy, and the much needed but so little time I had to spend with my family. 

It truly struck me how blessed I am to work from home- my own space where I can revamp whenever I please. So much so that it motivated me to write this blog: the reasons why I believe ‘There’s No Place Like Home’:

Expenses of Working From Home vs. An Office

(The following expenses vary from country to country, so I can’t give you the exact cost of everything.)

Working from home means that your actual monthly expenses will include internet costs, electricity, groceries, and insurance on your office equipment. If you work in an office, your expenses will include daily transportation, lunch, formal work clothes, social events, etc. 

I never really thought about these expenses because they were part of my everyday life. Back in the day, I calculated fees outside of my work environment. Since I’ve started doing the maths, and I truly believe everybody should- I realized that I’m saving a lot of money working from home.

Benefits of Working From Home

It’s safe to say that I finally found a professional growth opportunity where I’m in a good mental state. Since working at Job Duck,  I have found an outstanding work-life balance.
