We are excited to share our brand-new Weekly Tea with Taffy from South Africa. In this segment, we invite Job Duck virtual assistants from all over the world to tell us what it’s like to work from home with Job Duck.
In this episode, we meet Taffy. She found out about Job Duck from a friend who was also going through the application process. Taffy couldn’t believe there was a career opportunity that allowed her to stay at home and still earn money. For her, it seemed too good to be true, so she was a bit hesitant at the beginning. Fortunately, Taffy took a leap of faith and decided to apply for the administrative assistant position.
At the beginning of her application process, Taffy felt scared. However, she admits that it was a great opportunity for her character development.
“I think it taught me a lot. It taught me to have confidence in myself and what I can bring to the table.” – Taffy from South Africa.
So, Taffy is currently the executive virtual assistant at a law firm in California. She handles email management, research, booking meetings and events, among other things.
“I basically help people in the firm to work better. Mostly I work with my director. It has been fun!” – Taffy from South Africa.
The communication strategy between Taffy and her U.S.-based team is handled mostly via texting and email. Taffy assured that said strategy had worked smoothly and effectively for them, to the point where she sometimes feels as though they are all in the same office.
Before the interview finished, Taffy shared how much she loves being able to work from home. She even took the time to encourage everyone to apply for Job Duck’s open positions so they can enjoy being in a home-based position, just like her.
